for my brother

I prefer to use my infinite imagination... cause I ain't got no damn money.

i erm. "embroidered" his face, with yarn, because it wasn't working out when i tried to to tapestry crochet. no skillz yet. so that bothers me, but hey, the pictures look nice!
pretty sure my brother will hate it but i like it.

this weekend or next i want to make yoga pants out of an old shirt...
otherwise i have absolutely no motivation and everything kind of feels sinking and depressing. augh.

skull sweater finished!

the other day i was trying to remember why i started doing all this freaking crochet in the first place; why did i buy the book, again? i remembered initially it was because they started the dress code at work, in october, and i wanted to make my own sweaters...and whatever else i could to be "in the dress code" but still ridiculous. because i'm ridiculous.

so i finished this last night. i started before thanksgiving but got sidetracked with that whole "christmas" thing.

from stitch n bitch happy hooker pattern, w/modified skull

it fits just about perfectly (the sleeves are bit too bulky or my arms are too scrawny [unlikely] or something.) and i think it turned out really cute. i have a thing against grinning skulls so i did this one instead, and cranberry, because white yarn pisses me off like nothing else. :P
also, its really long and tube-ey which i don't mind but is odd because of my junk in the trunk butt. learning from these things!! i added a few extra rows to the sleeves so i can cover my freezing wrists too. and it's all in wool-ease, which is nice and warm, but i discovered after i bought the yarn that i like simply soft better. i'm not picky. acrylic yarn is like acrylic paint to me. who cares. stay away from flames ;)
i blame it on my mom having trunks full of handspun...stuff...i don't even know what kind...and spinning her own yarn. i never cared cause it became commonplace and unexciting, i guess. and i formed a very early aversion to wool and all other things wooly and smelly. anyway! i like my sweater.

trying to do a meatwad hat for my brother, possibly something out of garbage bags for the craftster crochet challenge. - just tried to cut the bag (didn't really work right) & tried to do a circle. no. not dealing with that. :P between....everything else...argh. i cleaned the whole apartment today and got & did a spiffy new rachel brice bellydance tape. that is one flexible girlie.

skull sweater WIP

WIP

i want to get this done so bad!

i changed the skull because i am too particular about grinning skulls. heh.
i dont feel like buying white yarn....the red is way too yummy anyway.
i'm carrying the yarn (isn't that what they say?! eh screw it.) through the middle out of laziness - i actually like how it shows, thinking of doing a whole sweater like that. it looks weird between the skulls but meh, its mine! mine!
the sleeves and the back are done...

i'm anxious and i need to go back to working on it!!

i did lots of gre prep today. planning on end of february, first week of march at the latest. i could get it over with much quicker if it wasnt for freaking work. ughhh.

the squeaky bunnies

done finally
angry at the noses. and the ears. but done.

my bf suggested I get dog-toy squeakers and crochet them into the bottom so that they'll squeak when she walks. So of course I HAD to. I crocheted two circles and sewed the edges to the bottom of the heels, but didn't sew around the whole circle; I left enough room so that she can take the squeakers out from underneath if they get too irritating. It's really hilarious when you walk in them because both squeaks are slightly different. too freaking adorably funny.

I used Caron Simply Soft & Jo-Ann Sensations "Beautiful" because I am cheap. either way they are deliciously soft!

the scarf and the loathsome fringe

for my grandpa.

i usually don't send gifts to my grandparents, i think mostly because of college previously, then money last year...but earlier this year my uncle died...my dads brother...a stroke. completely unexpected, and he was a hilarioulsy brilliant guy, and too young. and i really just want to send something to my grandparents regardless of how close i am to them. i made my grandma a bracelet (she will likely hate it, she hates everything we've ever gifted her, always "wants the receipt" so she can exchange it. but i dont care.)
life is tricky, death is sneaky.

fluffy squeaky bunnies!!

eeeek! i am making my sister the fluffy bunny slippers in blue.
every time my boyfriend looks at the picture in the book he bursts out laughing... so finally he came over and said "what you need to do is, in the heel or the ball, stitch in one of those squeaky things so that they squeak when she walks...she'll freak out..."
aaahaaaaha!

i just ordered some. :D eeek!!! these are going to be so obnoxiously cuuute!
